Wednesday, October 16, 2019

On Wed, October 16th we had a two hour docent- led tour given by volunteers who are Vietnam veterans, which will offer unique opportunities for us to hear first-hand accounts and perspectives about the Vietnam War and Era. This museum is very highly rated, and I’ve been told that for many people, this tour will be a very moving experience, not to be missed.

Following our visit to the Vietnam Memorial and Museum, we went to Bell Works in Holmdel. You probably know that Bell Works was formerly the research center, Bell Labs, and had quite a history before it became Bell Works. We’ll had lunch in Bell Market, which is their “food court.” After lunch, participants were able to visit the Holmdel Library and Learning Center, which has been referred to as the “next generation library.” Also, that day there was a Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market, with fresh produce, crafts, etc. as well as special activities taking place.
